I'm going to participate in a programming contest, IEEE Xtreme, in which I'm supposed to solve something using sepples or java with a group in 24 hours. While the other members of the group are EXPERT PROGRAMMERS, I have not achieved satori even though I read SICP. What does /prog/ recommend for me to do so I can do fast ENTERPRISE programming etc.? Does anyone have any experience in such shenanigans?

I recommend bringing a rifle and sufficient ammunition, in case you suddenly become enlightened.

That is the most unholy, blasphemous thing imaginable - to think, of javaids in contact with that beautiful language...

I'd use C. Not like any of their problems require OOP anyway, since they usually focus on algorithm design.

I'd use binary code. Not like any of their problems require statements anyway, since they usually focus on algorithm design.

I think I'll go with Intel 8051 Assembly.
