Ethical Hacking

Have you guys heard anything about Ethical Hacking?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Certified_Ethical_Hacker

wiki didn't provide a whole lot of help, but you can find more info through the usual sources. I'm majoring in computer science, and I've heard a lot about how important security is. I'm only a freshman, but down the line I hope to get my masters, and I think the best path to success is focusing on security.

Is security a safe route for employment? I'm good at math and will probably pick up a mathematics minor along the way. What do you guys know about Security Jobs in Computer Science?

Yea I know, I just kinda found that since it's the only thing that popped up when I wiki'd "Ethical Hacker". The certifications generally look like bullshit, but should I get them anyways just for employment sake, or would they actually hurt me instead (the cert seems easy and quick anyways)?

I *am* interested in Computer Security. I know about all the bullshit that the IT sector is going through with programmers/Software Engineers and outsourcing and all that crap. I want to avoid that. I hear a lot about how ``Cyber Security" is becoming extremely important, so it seems like it would provide good job security and dare I say ``fun"? I've always loved learning about the subject and the idea of being a kind of ``hacker", it seems like this may be one way for me to live out my dream.

Would a Masters Degree (with a possible Minor in Mathematics just because there isn't that much more to do to pick it up and I plan on taking differential equations anyways even though my program only requires up to Calc III for calculus) focusing on Security be a good route to go about doing this? Should I double major in, say, EE at all, or is that not necessary? Any courses I should look out for/particular subjects taught that I should try and take?

Finally, what title should I be looking for? Ethical Hacker is just something I came across in my research. Is there another position I can do some research into that a Masters would better qualify me for (and thus give me possibly better pay)? I'd like to try and find job descriptions and pay ranges/educational requirements while I'm a freshman so I can know this information beforehand.

Also, anyone know about working with the Gov't? Or should I stay clear of it?
