How do you keep up on new technologies and learn new languages? What study habits have you developed over the time you've been involved in the field? What do you do about textbooks or manuals that can sometimes get extremely dry and confusing?

As I float through the web knowledge of the latest and greatest seeps into my mind as if by osmosis. I don't push it. If a book is boring or confusing, it's usually because the subject matter is boring and poorly designed. I recognize this, and tone down the reading in favor of experimentation. This is how the system in question was designed, and how you are expected to use it.
