I was waiting for a friend in a bookstore. I still had half an hour (I like to arrive early), so I decided to Think in Sepples. I couldn't find the book, but my eyes noticed two other interesting ones: a bigass LATEX book and ``Scalable Websites'' or something with a fucking fish on it. I reached for the latter.

Thanks for clearing that up. It's a good thing I'm going for an IT degree.
IT seems to be the better choice but them why do employers always ask for Computer Science degrees, some ads even ask for Com Sci degrees only! WTF!

CS will teach you how to develop solutions. Some tasks within your solutions will need to be done manually by humans, though. An IT certificate represents the education needed to transform a monkey into a sentient component of a machine.
It's similar to how in an assembly line you need people every now and then to shove something or turn a screw when it's more cost-effective than designing a machine to do it.
Computer engineering is a fucking joke if you get a bachelors. Basically you take the first 2 years of CS classes and the first 2 of EE. No upper level understanding at all. At my college the computer engineers only have to take up to CS 2150 and nothing in the 3000 4000 range. Enjoy you HTML job.

OBSERVATION: my school's CompE BS program sucks
CONCLUSION: all schools' CompE BS programs suck
Enjoy taking orders from people with more developed reasoning abilities.
Your CompE classmates will still be qualified for QA, test engineering, and product support.
