SICP, K&R, and the C Language in General

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-29 0:40

Ok, what's with the huge circle-jerk about these items in /prog/? It's like if anyone doesn't read all of these and memorize them backwards and forwards, and if anyone programs in anything OTHER THAN C, they are completely retarded and should burn themselves alive.

Props if any of you can answer the question without degrading yourselves to trolling

Protip: SICP is not a C book. It just has ``C'' in the title. Also: PAIP.

OP here.

Yea, I know. Those are just the things you guys swoon over all of the time, never said SICP was a C book (although K&R is, being the "white bible" and all that). Shouldn't be fooled by the "in General".

Also: TAOCP, I know the books, that isn't what I'm asking about...

Half of /prog/ thinks anything higher level than C is useless faggotry.  The other half thinks anything lower level than Lisp, et al, is useless faggotry.  Only 1 person posts everything here.

I use both Haskell and C regularly.

I also prefer making sweet consensual love to my lawfully wedded wife in the missionary position, with the curtains drawn and the lights off.
