I wrote a K&R compiler in Scheme when I was 11.

I CARE IF IT IS UR FAVORITE COMPILER OR NOT.

You're clearly not a good programmer. EC (EXPERT C) was written as a single recursive function.

GNU, seriously. Please use tail recursion and/or lazy evaluation when evaluating this acronym, to reduce the risk of STACK OVERFLOW.

I don't think tail recursion or lazy evaluation would work here unless you read the string backwards.

I don't think you understand the difference between foldr and foldl.

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-23 11:03

>>19,20
I happen to do just that.  foldr applies its passed function to the arguments in ``reverse'' order, so that you can easily join them together with (:) and get the original list.  foldl on the other hand, is retarded.

I've heard some very good things about the optimizer in the Intel compiler. I think the ranking of quality compilers are:

Intel Compiler
Microsoft's Optimizing C compiler
GNU Compiler Collection coming in the last place (way behind the first two)
