How many people here can honestly say that they have achieved Satori?

I'm oh so clever. I can use pointers to pointers to pointers to pointers with ease

i've worked 4 years with professional programming but i don't think i've achieved any kind of satori because there are so many programmers out there that are much better than me, and that have a real gift of solving problems, inventing new techniques and building large projects

i'm just a n00b that lucked out and got to work with it straight out of high school, not even close to satori

but satori is what you define it, to me it's when i've become so sure of my programming that i don't have to look up things in books anymore

it's possible if i stick to the languages i use today, i use very few languages because i only use the ones i've been payed to use, c, perl, php, sql basically, if a company would pay me to use java then i'd use it but i haven't had any need for it

and the only problem so far is c where i still find myself reading something in apue or k&r if i forget how it was done, but i don't count library function argument order or returns, onlt language specific functionality

I have reached Satori.  I find it more and more difficult to communicate technically with those who aren't founded on proper first principles.

If you think you have achieved satori, you haven't.

Like wading into a lake, each new step brings greater depth of understanding.
