I CAN'T FIND THE INDEFINITE INTEGRAL OF THIS EQ.

         ...(1-(x)^(1/2))/(1+x^(1/2))

I tried substitution but my equation got only more complicated....

gb2/sci/

You know, in /sci/ they actually do this sort of thing. /prog/ will just meme for a while. If you're lucky you'll get a computer program to do it for you (the program won't work).

Read SICP (as per "/prog/ will just meme for a while"). The Sussman wrote an integration program.

(1-(x)^(1/2))/(1+x^(1/2))
(-x-1)/(x-1)
trivial maths are trivial

Should I have said : x != 1 ?

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-06 19:37

>>7
ecks factorial equals one

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-06 19:42

>>3
In /sci, at least back when I posted, they'd discuss what's 1/0, whether 0.999... equals to 1 or not, and why it's Maths, not Math.

>>9
why don't you listen to >>4 or >>5 ?

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-06 19:50

ALSO,

1+x^(1/2) != 0
x^(1/2) != -1
x^(1/2)^2 != (-1)^2
x != (-1)^2
x != 1

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-06 20:19

y=(-x-1)/(x-1)
y=(-2)/(x-1)-1
y-1=(-2)/(x-1)
(y-1)/(-2) = 1/(x-1)
(-2)/(y-1) = x-1
(-2)/(y-1)+1 = x

What you were looking for ?
