Seriously.  I love anything Debian-based, but I don't understand the hate for Ubuntu.

Also, explain which distribution you prefer.

perhaps you could explain why when one of my friends installed ubuntu on his laptop it didn't have gcc and wouldn't install the package because it said it was already installed, and wouldn't uninstall it because the files weren't there?
