How do I Freelance

Hey guys, I just scored my first freelance job making a website.  However, I'm not sure what steps I should take before starting the actual coding process. 

Should I make a time line?  Write some terms & conditions for him to agree on?  And what about getting paid?

Freelance webdesign is notoriously hard to get paid for. Draw up terms and conditions first, including a payment scheme, and make sure you have them by the balls until after they've completely paid you.
