In before a toy language faggot gives a noob who will never learn to program anyway some completely useless advice.

That is quite funny, because I invented all of these.

Lol.

Start from the bottom up. HTML is good to start, then go to XML, PHP, SQL, ActionScript, Python, Java, and C.

Then, you'll have learned all the programming languages you need to code games and such.

Saged, though, for lack of bothering to look this damned subject up yourself. =(

Fuck yeah. By the way, since you seem to be an expert on the subject, can you tell me if Half-Life 2 uses Oracle or MySQL?

Lol @ this post.

MySQL of course!

Name: Anonymous 2007-11-08 17:26

SQlite of course. Because lite means it's better.

HTML? HTML isn't a programming language! Prove it's Turing complete. Write a brainfuck interpreter in it (without using Javascript).

He didn't say it was a programming language. OP just asked where to start, not what programming language to start with, and I wouldn't necessarily disagree.

failed attempt at granting "Tuna Fish" meme status

The punchline of that joke is actually ``but you can't tunefs.'' No wonder it's not a meme

Name: Anonymous 2007-11-10 4:09

Actually, it's "but you can't tune a fish". You can check the tunefs man page for yourself if you like. It refers to both tunefs and tuna fish, which is what makes it moderately funny in the first place, and what makes the "tuna fish" corruption of the meme failsockets.

It doesn't matter anymore; it's been permanently removed by humurless management droids.

Actually, it's "but you can't tune a fish".
No it isn't:

%man tunefs | grep fish
You can tune a file system, but you cannot tune a fish.

LOL SEMANTICS.

No manual entry for tunefs

Forget it. It's the shittiest job ever. In a large part that is so because of silly people like you. For some reason every 16y old boy wants to be a game dev when he grows up and of course a lot of them try to do that, ignoring the fact that there's absolutely no job opportunities and even those few that sometimes open up require you to work insane hours for very shitty pay.

How the hell did you people even come up with this idea? You haven't even write a simple console application, have you? So why do you think this is a job for you? Just because games are fun? By the same logic maybe you should become a gynecologist?
