What a retard. PHP has a random function built in, taken straight from the C library. Ok, it's not as good as openssl (not that the application even needs such quality randomness) but far superior to using a fixed string.

srand(time());
$s = '';
for ($i=0; $i<64; $i++)
{
  $s .= chr(rand(0,255));
}
print $s;

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-30 7:03

Also, use mt_rand instead of rand, it's a much better one not relying on the CRT (which is usually shitty) but on the Mersenne Twister.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-30 7:09

>>9
on the CRT? WHAT HTE FUCK IS THE CRT YOU FUCKING MICROSOFT FAGGOT?
also, yep; most libc implementations have a horrible rand function.

Yes, if you compare a $400 TFT with a $100 CRT. If you compare good vs good or bad vs bad, CRT > TFT.

Wrong.

1) TFTs weigh less.
2) TFTs take up less space.
3) TFTs are far more power efficient.
4) TFTs are recyclable.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-31 3:55

>>22
Also, 5) TFTs are attractive for the four previous points, so makers have competition, and thus prices go down while quality goes up.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-31 4:14

>>23
Also, increasing the density of the green subpixel in the TFT results in a color gamut that gets close to crts.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-31 6:09

>>20,22
No, you're the faggots. A quality CRT kicks the crap out of a quality TFT, because it syncs any mode and looks right, it doesn't have annoying phase problems, it has lower latency, much greater contrast, better view angles, and doesn't fucking move when I'm writing on the same table it's on.

I agree though, that TFTs being more power efficient and recyclable are major advantages on their part.

>>23
No, TFTs are attractive because they look like Star Trek, and clueless idiots who always jump on the bandwagon follow the trend so they can be trendy and modern.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-31 6:50

>>25
A decent TFT looks good enough for most applications, and with the other benefits that >>22 described, are the reasons that TFTs are so popular.

I know some graphic and CAD designers who hang on to their CRTs because of the superior display capabilities, but that's quite niche.
