HTTP POST Request via PHP

I'm new to PHP and HTTP Requests and was wondering if any of you could help.  I need to know the syntax that an HTTP POST Request passes variables to from an HTML form to the server.  I can't seem to find it anywhere.

use sockets or something its easy, fuck you  read SICP
