Where to start.

Want to start to learn programming but haven't the devil of an idea where to begin.

Python, Java, C, some places even recommended HTML to start off.

A total failure with Sepples two years ago. Gave up after to months.

I've just started programming, took VB6 a few years back, learning C# and Java, mainly C# because it applies to a cheat engine for a game I play.

C# is very simple and good for nearly anything...anything in Windows, that is.

I haven't really given that much thought, heh. Eventually, I'd like to be able to code video games, but till then I'm happy if I could make a decent text editor or something.

This man is right, except one small detail: after reading SICP, give Haskell a chance. You will most likely not like it, but after you move on to imperative programming, you will never like it. No offence to you guys, I am a C guy myself, but I know a man who took a peek at Haskell, then tried to move on several times, but it appears he fell in love with Haskell. Fine too, as long as he is happy, just be sure to learn some Ruby or PHP or Python so you can get a job.
