My college...

Name: Anonymous 2007-09-06 7:07 ID:tgvCHtlu

is teaching a 'computing' course.

You know what we actually do? Make programs in Visual Basic 6. Our main task for the entire year was to construct an application that accesses a Microsoft Access db. It's point-and-click bullshit programming for retards.

On the upside, if you want something to replace calc.exe, I'm your man. Thank you Microsoft.

No thanks -- I'd much rather prefer a calculator written in a language that's only used for research and abstract bullshite.

Haskell is the best fuqin language, no matter what task.

What college? What major? What course?

If your college contains any of "Community College", "DeVry", "ITT Tech", "Online" or so forth, no shit. Go to a real college.

If your major contains any of "Game Programming", "Computer Information Systems", "Business", etc... no shit. Go take a real major.

If the class is not in the CS/CE department, no shit. Go take a real computing course.

With that said, what college, what major, what class?

I'm in the UK and have the same shit in some vocational college. This is exactly why I'm taking two maths A levels, read SICP, wrote a compiler, learning Haskell and applying to Cambridge.
