Realtime Anaglyphs

Hey guys... ive been doing some DX shader writing recently, and ive just been looking at an old pair of 3d glasses, you know the ones with one red lens and one green.

I was wondering... do you think its possible to write a shader that could output anaglyphic images in realtime?

I dont exactly know what the how red image differes from the green image, i assumes its not something as simple as viewing a scene from 2.5-3 inches apart...

it must be do-able, right? it'd need do something like, perform a vertex offset, depending on how far from the camera position is, do a pass for the green, and a pass for the red, also a pass for the overlap....

NB: this may have already been developed, and ive been liviing in a cave.

It's as simple as viewing a scene from 2.5-3 inches apart.
You may also want to check out other existing options, I know at least NVIDIA has a driver with stereoscopic support.

There's some screensavers for XScreenSaver that have 3D glasses modes.

Also, green? What the fuck?

Did you not even look up anaglyph on Wikipedia or something?

Also, the demogroup ``Farbrausch'' released an anaglyphic demo a few years ago. They actually used shaders, if I remember correctly.
