FTP i suppose you could list it as a skill if you knew the RFC inside out and have written your own full featured FTP server/client

That's the last stage of Python mastery. He hasn't still reached it, as you can clearly see.

which syntax do you prefer?
- what syntax? i type in machine code directly
- Intel syntax
- AT&T syntax (faggot)

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-29 8:30

>>29
Intel syntax. Destination first is a very common convention and AT&T syntax sucks for indirect addressing.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-29 8:50

Java
PHP
GC is shit.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-29 9:55

>>29
Intel syntax is the (faggot) option by virtue of being the correct choice.

Java is a disgusting programming language, but even though it sucks, the most disgusting thing about it is the standard library, not the language itself, and you can accomplish things in Java. Pascal, on the other hand, is even more of a toy: it's a decent BASIC.

Bash is nice for short interactive shit, but as a programming language, it's terrible. Terrible, unsafe, everything string-based, etc. I'd try to evolve the UNIX shell into properly tooled Tcl or Scsh. I think Tcl is quite nice for what it does, and Scsh combines the power of a decently simple shell with a real programming language.
