Script to defeat Sailormoon/Dial Spam

I will not post the actual script here but I can safely say that the success rate of my script is almost 80%

I tested it on /b/ earlier and modified it so it will hunt down Sailormoon Spam.

Here's what's supposed to happen...
- Script will read words and seek a pattern/keywords
- If pattern matches those stored in database, execute script
- Will click on the post number and display it then
- Paste stored custom message

Sorry... just testing my script which specifically hunts Sailormoon Spam with 80% accuracy using keywords... which is slow.

Problem is sometimes it double posts or is not fast enough...

I suspect it's the way I programmed it to handle the way it scans keywords that is bogging it down.

Any suggestions?

I suggest you read SICP and learn how to program properly.

Nope, my goal here is to make it simple enough so I could distribute it and be edited by anyone with mid-technical knowledge to suite their needs. And the only thing that is currently running in my head is to scan phrases/keywords and compare it to the my stored one here and if it did match the script will kick in. I have a fast connection here so it's not a factor.

I'll be specific, Is there a way to speed up/optimize scanning?

It seems you're already doing a good job reinventing the wheel, but anyway, take a look at any decent algorithm textbook. The ``Sorting and Searching'' volume of The Art of CP is more than sufficient.

Update:

- To trick flood detection, I now placed a 15 second delay before the script loops again.

- Script will only work on Dial Soap and Sailormoon spam posted on /b/ since those two is using the same phrase over and over which is easily spotted since I have set it to look ONLY on the first page of /b/ and refresh every 20 seconds.

Problems still to be solved:

- Script will only scan visible part of the page and will not dig deep so if spam is being ommitted because it is pushed by other posts, it will not be scanned and detected.

I will work on this but for now I will work on optimizing speed.
