dmoz has a language comparison category.
Seem relevant since most of /prog/ traffic is scholarly, well informed, polite comparison of languages.

Which is irrelevant if you have to roll out your own libraries. Sure, if all libraries you will need are available then yes, Ruby can be a better choice, but Python has been around for a longer time, so it is a safer choice without knowing the exact problem you're solving.

Please measure code in number of tokens. #Q/()%&#"=$& Perl-like crap is not really shorter. Ruby does great in the features side, but he got it wrong when he tried to use a Perlish syntax. It sucks.
