Where I work, if PHP is the LAMP language you're most familiar with, it works against you. It's better not to have it on your resume, even if you know no other popular LAMP language.

I once extended Lotus 123 with a ton of extra functions I wrote in C [because the client knew 123]. I couldn't mention it on my resume because everyone saw "Lotus 123" and barfed. People that do the hiring are stupid, because the smart people are too busy to do interviews.
