firefox bug

Name: Anonymous 2007-07-23 22:29 ID:FtLGCGXW

I found a small bug on Firefox, but I just can't be arsed reporting it:

Before filing a bug report
There are four crucial steps that you should follow before filing your first bug report:
  1. Use the latest nightly build of Firefox with a new profile
  2. Determine which product has the bug
  3. Check if the bug is already filed
  4. Finally, read the official Bug Writing Guidelines

there are probably loads of bugs people spot but just never bother to report because it's such an arse

steps to reproduce the bug

1) find load an image in firefox which you know will fit inside the window when it is maximised
2) now, resize firefox so that when the image loads, it won't fit, so it is automatically shrunk and the cursor turns into a magnifying glass
3) click the image so that it zooms into the correct image size
4) maximize your Firefox window so that the fully sized image fits inside the window
5) observe the cursor--it's still a magnifying glass... WHAT

you forgot:
5. Register an account on bugzilla
6. Wait fucking 100 minutes for a confirmation email
7. Go back to step 1 because there's a new nightly build by now.

If my browser just randomly rescaled images for me, that would certainly piss me off.

>>1 is retarded.

The magnifying glass indicates that clicking it will rescale it back down. The + and - show what direction clicking the image will scale. Also if you don't want the image to be resized to fit the window, then don't fucking enable automatic image resizing to fit the window. It's an option in the preferences.

Agreed. Except for the opera faggotry.

What makes it even worse is the "nearest neighbor" bullshit algorithm used. It makes the eyes bleed.

reproduce the error, you are an idiot. clicking it does nothing, that's why it's a bug. but aside from your failure, you're right, the best way to fix a bug is to avoid it. yeah.

fucking kill yourself.
