I have a simple html template with a few text fields to fill up. When I enter apostrophes ' in the text field, it gets converted to \' in the finished page. The pages seem to be utf-8 encoded, and I have no control over this (it's a template for an auction site). Apostrophes that are in the template itself are unaffected.
I tried pasting text there with various encodings, but neither helped. What am I doing wrong?

Use it; PHP is not Touring-complete.

I'm not. The text fields are put into template by the auction site's custom <description> tag. If it's being PHP processed when generating the final page after filling the fields, I have no control over this.
You're all worthless. Thanks for the help. I've made more progress on my own. This is why I left forums in the first place, is because of 30-40+ yr old assholes that think it's funny to be fucking deuchbags. Nice guys nice. I hope I see you assholes bleeding on the street and when you say, Help me! I'll piss on your fucking face, and then shit in your mouth and watch you choke to death. Fuck you
this board is called /prog/ for a reason.
if you come here asking for help and you don't know that php is shit, you should be prepared for the consequences.
