What does /prog/ use for CGI?

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-29 2:12 ID:qJOS28nj

Since Ruby is slow as fuck, Python is forced indentation of code, Perl is http://www.ex-parrot.com/~pdw/Mail-RFC822-Address.html and PHP is fail on a cosmic level, what does /prog/ prefer when dealing with CGI? I seriously doubt C and Haskell.

NO EXCEPTIONS

I can see why not C (lol buffar ovarflows), but why not Haskell?

Because you can't do anything with Haskell.

I use Python because people who complain about forced indentation of code are faggots.

Funny you didn't mention ASP or JSP, because they both suck too.

I use SICP for CGI.

I extend Inferno's Web server for my private stuff.  For work, I use Perl.  With some discipline (use strict, perl -w, put comments in /x REs, write PerlDoc, read "perldoc perlstyle") it is actually possible to write maintainable Perl.

ho do i putted coment in re?

Read "perldoc perlre", particularly where it talks about the /x modifier. It should be on page 1 or 2.

x   Extend your pattern[7m<80><99>s legibility by permitting whitespace and comments.

If I parse that correctly... Perl sucks like a duck, and quacks like a duck.

Real CGI, mod_python or FastCGI?

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-29 12:54 ID:q2sBpgGc

Perl, with FastCGI wherever I can get away with it. I'd use Python instead, except that I use regex too often in this context to like a library solution.

Google, man: http://www.perl.com/pub/a/2004/01/16/regexps.html

is that even relevant to the topic or is this just your way of saying "Ive read SICP"?

FastCGI. Using a server-independent technology gives me the option of using LigHTTPD, which I prefer.

Oh man.

I use Python because it is superior. People who hate forced indentation can lick my ass. I never want to read your code.

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-29 15:51 ID:Heaven

Write the web server in python, and import all the cgi scripts as modules.

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-29 16:10 ID:Heaven

>>17
Well, you can't either, because I write it in clearly expressed Haskell.

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-29 18:16 ID:dev5zQAi

Python for my stuff, decent PHP for work, which can be sane if not written by morons and properly structured. Pretty much what >>7 said.

IS THAT EVEN RELEVANT TO THE TOPIC OR JUST YOUR WAY TO SAY "IVE REED SICP!"?

The graph view but   before they give   AWAY BOOKS FOR   more details It   does show examples   of how to   MODIFY IT AFTER   GNU and talking   about replacing a   with b with   many features such   as multiple inheritance   which I understand   the idea of   anything they are   supposed to teach.
