fstream C++ question

I have a .txt file accessed with an fstream.

The txt contains words seperated by newlines.

Can I delete a word using only fstream and its methods?
If not, how would a file edit like this be possible?

Shouldn't be too complicated since you're only reducing the size of the file while also not changing the layout. I haven't used C++ in quite some time but setting the put cursor at the beginning of the word you want and the get cursor at the end of it and then read the whole thing and output it again and finally trimming the part after the put cursor should do it.

C++ has its niche.  But for a job like this, it's probably worth learning the minimum of Perl you'd need to accomplish it.
