What happend to Java?

I haven't seen any Java bashing threads lately, what's up with that?

I can only come up with two reasons:
1. Everyone came to the conclusion that Java isn't that bad after all.
2. Everyone stopped using Java altogether.

Which one is it?

Java is bad, its inefficient, and you cannot force deallocation at will on all VM's (definately not the one for windoze), I've sat in meetings trying to withold the laughter and tears when a team from another project is going over solutions to a memory leak problem! Isn't that supposed to be like priests having marital problems?
