Ocaml is nice, Haskell is nicer. Use Ocaml for heavy number crunching when you want lightning fast performance.

Ocaml is crufty, in my opinion. It needs a cleanup.
There's nothing wrong with learning it though. It's still a decent language.

Yes, go on. If you want to get seriously into functional programming, learn (also) Haskell, but as OCaml provides some OO functionality, it is speed- and feature wise a pretty good drop-in replacement for the steaming pile of crap called C++.
