learning a new language

I am going to write a new internets.  What language should I learn to make this new internets in?  The options are: Java, Python, or PHP.

For quick hacks or to reuse existing code (not always good though), Python. But for better stuff, if you're serious about it, and want to learn a good general-purpose programming language, learn C.
