code golf: reduce the number of strokes that it takes to complete a particular objective
I'm not paid to write crap that no one can read later because I want to appear smart in front of others. I take the time to create good architectures, I don't waste my time to shorten crap that other programmers wrote. And while you golf your stupid piece of code, I write useful stuff that I'll use, what will you have instead? more space on your hard disk?

I think you are all missing the point; this is fun for "programmers" who were and will never be useful. Its like the shitty hobbies that retirees pick up, like gardening or woodworking. They aren't doing anything worthwhile, but it makes them feel like they are accomplishing something.
