Multimedia in C#

well, i might have scored a job at a co that develops. Multimedia advertising boards. Like teh LCD panels you see at airports bus stops etc..

Anyway, anyone able to recommend good tutorials / books for multimedia programming in C#?
I've heard that their takes a video stream, uses directX api's to overlay a rendered RSS stream (they read RSS feeds, and render it onscreen) and other crap.
