noob help lol, flash

I want to load get data from urls to a couple of dynamic text fields that i have on my flash project. loadVariables wont get the damned strings from the url (header?). Am I doing it wrong?

I also have javashit blocked - if I find a site that requires it to load, then I just go to a different site.  So as far as I'm concerned (& a hell of a lot of others), javascript loses visitors to sites.
