I'm a linux guy forced to use windows at work, and I maintain my sanity with rxvt that comes with cygwin. I didn't like the behavior of the generic bash shell that came with cygwin since it relied of cmd.exe. rxvt isn't perfect, but I like it a hell of a lot better than the other options I found.
Windows Powershell code that will iterate over all files in the directory you are in an rename all jpegs containing the string "Rar!" to filename.jpg.rar.
To put it in a simple way, this is the best shit ever. I wonder how long would I take for me to know about PowerShell's existence if I hadn't seen it here. Cheers OP!
anyways, powershell *kinda* sucks. it's neither a real scripting language, nor a real shell (you can't remote without some hacks, no cool tools like screen etc.) and last I heard it won't even ship together vista.

Not usage samples as in "You can do this and that with Powershell", I've got those. I want the "Hay guys look what I did" kind of usages. Epic usages.

Well, nothing epic from me, I just got it today and messed with it a little. The article >>8 posted gave some interesting insights. In the end, it has a very bash-like feeling which I enjoyed quite a bit. I took a long time, but finally MS gave us something (much) more functional than the ridiculous cmd.

this is a horrible excuse for a shell. MS should be ashamed of themselves.
