Ok, I was looking through the registry one day, and noticed that all the user profiles are stored in HKEY_USERS. However, they are listed by SID or whatever that number is called. How do I figure out what user names map to what SIDs? I can't rely on shell folder directory names.
connect to the WinNT://whateverblah provider with WMI, C++ or whatever. LDAP://blah for AD. Look for the objectSID that matches. Username is the sAMAccountName attribute. Use gooooooooogle if none of this makes sense.
But this is 4chan, so delete all the accounts.

Thank you.
I read about that WMI stuff before, wondering if there was a simpler way without having to do all that.
You can parse the user name from the ProfileImagePath key.
That'd be relying on the folder names though.
