WTF, why make things complicated when you can make them simple. Does CHR$(10) still work?

Incidentally... What's a newline in C#?

Actually for C# you technically should use Environment.NewLine if I remember correctly. That way it works on multiple platforms.

Yeah, if you do it that way it will work on Windows, Windows, and Windows.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me... I almost forgot that Mono doesn't exist.

Ok seriously guys, is there anything that can be done in C# that can't be done in VB.NET? They seem pretty similar to me, except for the syntax of course.

Well, they all compile down to MSIL (so they run from the same byte-code language). As far as syntactical differences go between the two languages, I don't really know off-hand. C#, in my mind, is probably much easier for writing ASP.NET applications and dealing with interoperability (er, well I just prefer it all together). And I believe I saw a study done during .NET 1.1 which stated that the C# compiler was much more optimized for I/O type operations.

I used to prefer C# until I realised I could code about 5x faster in VB.NET thanks to a rather better IDE and language constructs like With/End With.
