Java's shitCase sucks, but CorrectCase is good. It helps differentiating functions/methods/classes from variables, and if you're working on anything serious (10K lines and over), short names will probably not be enough.

I'm probably taking the same class you are, except my school won't give us AP credit for it. We learn java...it's a terrible language...but it's sooo easy

The language is, but the API is pure hell. So cumbersome you want to do what it does yourself.

Getting AP credit for CS just makes you look like an asshole to other CS majors. Take the 300 courses and you'll meet kids your own age. Sure, the AP courses will help you better understand the material you'll learn as a freshman, but who couldn't use easier core-class A grades?

I dunno about you, but none of the CS majors I've ever met gave a shit.
