Does anyone know of any program that lets the user create working .swf files, isn't just the trial form of a paid program, isn't 'bundled' with adware, and is multifunction (I've seen some programs that only decorate and animate text, that only create navbars, that only create forms, and so on)?
Failing that, is it possible to work in some plaintext format (a variant of xml, like maybe svg, or possibly canvas), and then convert it to .swf? I know there are some editors that let a user work with ActionScript outside of its native environment, but I don't know if it can be done for an entire animation.
PS: don't whine about me not buying it. An educational version for students at my school costs $100, I need that for textbooks and food, and I'm not about to pay money for a second-string version of the software. Besides the Web is supposed to be about accessibility, and if I can't make Flash animations without buying an editor, then it's not ready for the web the way XHTML and CSS and PNG are.
