Dev C++ Help

Name: DoubleAW 2006-06-22 19:00

Gah. I'm trying to compile with Dev C++'s Mingw compiler, and it consistently gives me this:

cc1plus.exe [blahblah] unrecognized command line option "-fsave-memoized"

Help?

Remove that switch from anywhere it comes

Name: DoubleAW 2006-06-22 20:36

Yeah, I did. It was in the Makefile.win that Dev C++ made. I edited it and removed those, and now it works fine.

Dev-C++ has several options in the GUI that no longer work with the compiler. Now that development is dead, you're never going to see it fixed.

Code::Blocks

IDEs are for chumps. Especially IDEs written in Delphi.

Dev-C++ is one of the cleanest and most lightweight editors I've used.  While visual studio might be more "powerful", I use Dev-C++ for most of my personal coding.

Mind you, it does crash fairly often :(

Was that how you managed to turn >> into <<

Maybe you failed at something (possibly just failed at luck); it doesn't crash often on my box.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-25 22:50

It never crashes on my box either. Then again, I've stopped using it.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-28 15:35

Yeah, Code::Blocks ftw in this case. But I like kdevelop more.

More huge than xbox. Too heavey and too much configuration, didn't compile a simple hello world properly, just failed. I lol'd and turned back to Code::Blocks.

If you learn Emacs or vi, you'll never need to learn another IDE/editor.  They run on every platform ever invented.  And the command line/make isn't bad.

vim ftw.

Then you are doing it wrong

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-29 4:35

Also, smoke weed everyday.

2006: when using DevC++ was socially acceptable.

what will become of us?

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-27 1:15

In a 2006 forum post, lead developer Colin Laplace stated that he was busy with real-life issues and did not have time to continue development of Dev-C++

You will die eventually.

That's funny. I actually used to be completely at terms with death.
