I hereby request some kind of lib for handling file format associations. I've tried doing it on my own but there's like ten million ways to just pick which exe should be used.

I'm trying to make my app handle files instead of whatever is doing that now. In order to do that I need to remove the old associations. It seems that it is not trivial (it can be set in more than one way, simultaneous, and the way windows prioritize them is unknown for me).

Currently I can get it working in "normal" setups but I want it to get better.

Exactly what is your point? I was asking for a library, and doing it manually isn't really a library.
