I've finally gotten tired of using SDL for 2d programming, and started working on some proper 3D opengl stuff, and i've been looking around for good tutorial places. I found a great one (http://nehe.gamedev.net/) - but apparently its down. I only got to the tutorial where you got to put textures in :( I've been trying find something up to par with that site, but im really having trouble. Anyone got any good tips?

yes, i do know that. But i want to learn opengl, not opengl via sdl. Broaden my horizons. :)

There's little difference to how you start it, and no difference from then on.

well that doesnt really matter unless i find any good tutorials. Back to subject: Do you know of any good tutorials? I've checked Nehe's tutorials (but that site is down now), so i need something else. I have found his tutorials in German and Japanese now, but that doesnt help that much since i dont speak japanese at all, and very limited german.

What multiplatform low-level multimedia API would you use?
"Real programmers" created sdl for noobs. The 's' sounds for simple btw.

SDL was created by Loki Software to aid in their porting of games. Take a wild guess why?
"Real programmers" are bright enough to avoid doing things the hard way without good reason. If you reinvent the wheel just because you think you're hardcore, you're an idiot.

"real programmers" are also lazy and like to pretend that they're game developers.
Actual game development houses don't use sdl and by actual I mean successful.

There is some truth in what you are saying, but Quake 4 on Linux uses SDL.
