Phython help

hi! erm.. this might sound like a very noob question.. xD but i really don't know a thing about phyton... Anyways, i've downloaded a bit of (phyton source code files?) that are all .py e.g. g3torrent.py. I use Mandriva linux (in this case... i also have Yoper and Mempis comps as well)what program should i get to compile/run these files?

The first thing you want to do is to type "python" to check it's installed and in the path...

Python comes with most distros, you can check it as in >>3
If not, install the appropriate package.

You run your scripts like any other script, eg bash. Easiest way is simply:
$ python foo.py

Doing this also generates python bytecode (foo.pyc) if you care.
