TI-86 programming

When programming the TI-86 I called the basic command Prompt and set it to A but get ERROR 10 Data Type. I get this same error A - C. When I use prompt with E it dosen't show this error and works. Anyone know what this happends?

E is Exponential in BASIC, i.e. a number.

You need to rename Prompt to Prompt$ and use quotes when giving it a value.

Prompt$ = "A"

Prompt$ = "HP > TI"
