Help with mod_perl

Hi I was wondering if anybody here could help me with mod_perl on linux. I've just started using linux recently so I'm not as good with programming as most linux users obviously are. The problem is that I can't seem to get mod_perl to work with apache2. Anyone has any ideas/suggestions for me?

I do not know of this PerlHandler bullshit,[b] but I know a way to make perl-scripts function - that is:

<Directory /var/www>
    Options +ExecCGI
    AddHandler cgi-script .pl
</Directory>

Not exactly the safest solution, but it works...
