I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

I don't know who SBFE is. All I know is that his IP address matches yours. On a unrelated note, who are you quoting?

You raise an interesting point and I could actually see this being more effective then I initially considered. If the teachers are hunkered down in their locked class and are armed as a last line of defense, then that might be highly beneficial.
But I do see [3] three big problems otherwise:
If the teacher is panicky or scared (likely) whoever steps through that door might get shot. Hopefully police, security, or school staff would identify themselves clearly to avoid this, but it's a tense and highly volatile situation.
The real danger is teachers who take it upon themselves to go hunt down the shooter, rather than take cover in their classrooms. As in most situations, being a cowboy has the very real potential of getting innocent people (and kids especially) shot. Not to mention the fact that the police might not know who the teachers are and shot them too.
Then there's that one mentally retarded nerd kid who will probably be dared or coerced to steal their teacher's gun and will get shot as a result because in some states, it's legal to kill someone who is trying to pull a gun off of you.
All in all, it's highly complicated. If they're determined to to do this the only thing we can hope for is that there are no school shootings and barring that, lots and lots of high quality training on moving targets for teachers.
