Gorbachov to Putin

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-09 17:33

In 1985 Gorbachov made perestroika and glasnost, and because of that; countries suddenly in 1991 demanded independence, and The Russian Federation among 14 other countries were made.

In the russian federation Boris Jeltsin became their president. He wanted to do quite much the same as Gorbachov, and reformed the state-economy from a communistic to a capitalistic which made the GINI-Coefficient explode. (Oligarchy was made).
The Russian Federation did go into a economic stagnation.

In 1999 Vladimir Putin became president of the economic catastrophic country, and repaired the economy. And it will propably get even much better, based on their membership in the BRIC-countries.

Question: Why are people unsatisfied with Putin? Jeltsin destroyed the country by not thinking twice about his reformation, and Putin repairs it again?

And what is all the talk about HIM being corrupt based on?

Putin was a communist. He is limiting the Russian population's power to choose how and by who they are governed. The elections are almost openly fixed and those who are a genuine threat to his power find themselves in trouble with the law in some form or another. Not many people have been put in jail because the ones that have were punished as a warning, and considering Russia history it is easy to see why not many choose to rock the boat. Also,Putin supports privatization. So in order to make big bucks many people give up their political freedoms to ensure their financial gain. However a vast amount of Russians are left out of the equation and are forced to adhere to the consequences.
