Stepping back from the present day context do you think the state of society is dictated by a minority of wealthy capitalists?
there is a difference between the minimum wage and the established living wage (this is what you need to live on based on where you live, which in my area is atleast 25% above minimum wage). This means the state will 'top up' peoples incomes so they can afford to live and get by whilst giving concessions to big companys becuase they employ lots of people (on minimum wage) like tax cuts or no tax.
if your receiving money from the state chances are your not living well in an overall sense due to life costing money. Also lower down you loose a lot of rights that arent written in contracts they are meant to be social norms... i dont see people higher up working 8 hour shifts every sunday when they have 2 young kids. Oh you didnt take you holiday in time - you loose it no compensation. sundays same pay rate!!!. all kinds of stuff.
for me working 2 days a week not able to get more work and earning £400pm i have to add all the expense of a monopoly bus company so £4.20 per day.plus minimum £3 food. i would be better of not working. and even then i still have no money.
also look at a map of the UK. most of it is owned by a small number of people and exploited with chemicals or growing commodities for the world market. this isn't even questioned.
i don't want to live in a city!
The ignorant are abused and coerced into blindly following what they are told and have been schooled on how to see the world.
who is benefiting from this? are we? science is catching up with human recklessness and basically we are creating health problems as fast as we solve them.
would it not make more sense to step into the new millennium and stop basing our lives on what 50+yo people think?
please be constructive this is just an idea so feel free to add to it.
