Christian hate of Islam

With the little stir created with that US Muslim woman, a thought popped into my head...
Yes, like most religions, Christianity is fundamentally peaceful.  I know that much.

What is it about the Jewish nations and peoples hating Muslims in general so much?
Christians accept Muhammad as a prophet, but Muhammad was the LAST prophet, so he deserves more attention and stuff, so it can't just be the Muslim-following aspect.
Is it just that they associate Muslims with the Middle Eastern world?  Or maybe still just something passed down ever since the Crusades?

I don't see anything particularly wrong with marrying a young girl, as these were way different times. Also, doing sexual things with an 8-year old does not constitute rape if it is consensual, well, at least not if you try to think freely and in this case reject a wrong law. Then again, I'm not a Muslim, and me being a paedophile is actually the main reason for it because it isn't accepted in any of the large monotheistic religions.
