Christian hate of Islam

With the little stir created with that US Muslim woman, a thought popped into my head...
Yes, like most religions, Christianity is fundamentally peaceful.  I know that much.

What is it about the Jewish nations and peoples hating Muslims in general so much?
Christians accept Muhammad as a prophet, but Muhammad was the LAST prophet, so he deserves more attention and stuff, so it can't just be the Muslim-following aspect.
Is it just that they associate Muslims with the Middle Eastern world?  Or maybe still just something passed down ever since the Crusades?

This is documented objective truth.  If his followers find this repugnant, perhaps they should choose a religion founded on a little less rape and pedophilia.
