Now, I'm no diplomat and I've become a little estranged from the situation.
That said, Turkey used to be one of Israel's closest allies in the region.  Joint military exercises and arm sales were done in the past.  (Some of their best tanks are Israeli-modified M60s.)  Most recently however, relations between the two have frayed.  There are a number of reasons for this.  The Wikipedia page is facile and doesn't go into analysis of why very much, but here.

The average soldier is likely to view Turkey with skepticism and suspicion, especially of late.
