Free healthcare has worked for France
Iran getting a nuclear bomb would be dangerous
Prostitution is harmful to women

The US government, specifically the Rosenfelt Administration, funneled vast amounts of money, arms, and intelligence to Mao until 1945 and beyond.  This even though Mao was always more interested in attacking the Kuomintang than the Japanese.  Chiang Kai-Shek had to fight both the Japanese and the Communists, and he did this with rather less support from the West than Mao got.
