Liberalism, proclaiming the human rights being the highest value, leads to the fact that people forget their duty to the Nation and the State, care only about their personal well-being, which ultimately leads to the disintegration of the National Identity through the foundations of democracy and economic system of capitalism. Without it, we would live in backward and stagnant dictatorships or absolute monarchies, probably very similar to the Syrian regime and Saudi monarchy. American "Liberalism" at its core in modern terms is no different from modern "Conservatism" The only real differences between the two philosophies are cast on a series of mostly irrelevant smoke screen issues. Abortion is a perfect example. This is an ethical, philosophical, and religious issue. It has NOTHING to do with how this country should be run. Conservatives and Liberals both have some good ideas, and they share some pretty terrible ones. On the surface, there is all of this bitter, spiteful vitriolic debate over issues like taxes, the wars, energy, and enviornmental policies, but no matter who has the power, NOTHING ever gets done with these issues. Both political parties are backed by and push the same interests behind the peoples' backs.
