It's shorthand for United States of America. The terminology regarding "America" can get quite confusing. I just use US/USA/United States instead to avoid confusion.

Obviously you didn't comprehend my statement.  Drowning out an opposing viewpoint doesn't destroy the argument.  Drowning it out only prevents it from being heard.  That's an idea that some people sadly have: If you can't out-argue the opponent, drown them out so they can't be heard.  It's a tactic based mostly on fear that you actually don't have a counter-argument, so you must drown them out.
